Welcome to Runawaywombat
Hi and Welcome. I hope you enjoy my blog and hope we can share my love of cooking and making craft items which I have made for many years. Juggling motherhood and work has been fun and a learning experience. Runawaywombat is an Etsy site where I create classic items which are vibrant, practical and fun. Many items from Aprons, Tea Towels, make up and storage bags. You can see my items by going to www.etsy.com/shop/runawaywombat. On the food front I made Lemon slice and honestly I can't make enough of it as it run off the plate with my family.

Yummy chicken
Hi everyone, Last night I made my yummy chicken. Chicken breasts marinated in oil and barbarcue seasoning with a dash of garlic and herb seasoning.
Cut the chicken to even thickness so they cook together and evenly. Put two table spoons of sunflower oil in a dish, you can either sprinkle the chicken or add the seasoning to the oil. A sprinkle either side of the chicken will do. Cover and put it in the fridge for about half an hour. Then cook in a non-stick pan until the chicken is cooked through. If running late you can prepare and cook straight away. I have done is many times. I'm posting a picture and hope you think it is yummy and delicious too.

What to do with leftover pasta
Hi everyone,
I thought it was time to share another one of my recipes. This is my pasta dish when I have leftover pasta. This takes about one bowl of cooked pasta. Then you make a white sauce (as you would with making a Lasagne dish).
In an non-stick wok you cook up one chopped onion, one or two celery sticks, one or two carrots, all chopped, in a Table spoon of sunflower oil. You can also put bacon, this gives an extra flavour but if you don't have it, it doesn't matter. You can also add chopped capsicums for color and extra flavour.
Once the vegies are cooked you add the cooked pasta to heat through and then add the white sauce. You can add grated tasty cheese if you wish. This would serve about two people of four if you are making it with something else. Great as a meal or a side dish with steak or chicken.

New CHEF STYLE HALF APRON love inspired 'Sweethearts'
Hi everyone,
Just letting you know that I just relisted my Chef Style Half Apron love inspired 'Sweethearts' on the etsy site/runawaywombat if anyone was wanting to have a look. Here is the background story to this apron. Will be posting soon again.
Background Story
This chef style half Apron ‘Sweethearts’ caught my attention and reminds me of champagne bubbles arranged beautifully in the shape of hearts. The red the obvious color of love with the pretty mix of white and soft pink. I hope you enjoy this combination of romance and love hearts on this apron.

Apples trees in bloom
Hi everyone, just posting the flowering apple trees in my garden. I thought for all the keen green thumbs out there, you would enjoy some of what the beautiful spring weather has to offer, downunder. I use these to then make my apple pie, but I'll have to wait until April for the apples to mature. Stay tuned for more posting soon. See Ya.

Background Stories
Hi everyone,
Just an update on my background stories. I'm including them on my etsy site so you can get a real feel of how and why the aprons and other items are made.
My designs are a journey of discovery for me. Every color, shape and design a connection to some past, present or future in my life. I will try and bring as many stories to my items as I can so you can see and feel the connection as well.
I hope some happiness is felt through my stories or some memories are rekindled of love, family and home.

Once a upon a time
Hi everyone, I have been busy making another apron I called this one 'Apron Mini' because I make them alittle shorter then my usual Chef Style Aprons so they are alittle more stylish and sexy. But back to my stories of Once upon a time.
Have you ever had anyone say you look like someone else. Well, I apparently look like every other person. This happens to me alot. One day I was doing my motherly duties, as you do, and was heading towards my car.
All of a sudden, from across the road I hear, "Hi, How are you going". I looked around and there was no one around. I stood and smiled. Quickly a woman runs across the street and says. "Remember me""Did you go to a school in the country. I said "No, sorry I went to one in the area. "Are you sure," she replied. At first I laughed and said"No, No, but for a split second I thought maybe I did attend a country school. Hang on, I know what school I went to."You sure look like someone I went to school with". She replied. We chatted for a little while and said our goodbyes. I wonder if this has happened to anyone else.
