Welcome to Runawaywombat

Hi and Welcome. I hope you enjoy my blog and hope we can share my love of cooking and making craft items which I have made for many years. Juggling motherhood and work has been fun and a learning experience. Runawaywombat is an Etsy site where I create classic items which are vibrant, practical and fun. Many items from Aprons, Tea Towels, make up and storage bags. You can see my items by going to www.etsy.com/shop/runawaywombat. On the food front I made Lemon slice and honestly I can't make enough of it as it run off the plate with my family.

Once a upon a time - weight loss - What to do when I can't get to the gym

The unexpected sometimes happens and that's when plan B has to come into play. My intentions are always good but friends drop over, relatives make a sudden appearance and the gym session goes out the door.

This was the situation today. So, what am I to do. Throw some hoops, that could work, go for a walk, or even do my 80s moves to my old records. Yes, I have the vinyl records. They are vintage, retro, something.

So I think I'll start these and hopefully that will be the gym session today. Always have a plan B so some exercise is achieved. I better get started. Will keep you posted.

I hope in the next few days that it should be complete. Here are the pictures, please let me know what you think or visit the shop for a better look. http://www.etsy.com/shop/runawaywombat

Once a upon a time - weight loss - weigh in

Well, As you do I went onto the scales and the weight is coming off. 68.7kgs but I now have to be good with the food to make sure it keeps going in the right direction. I love to here from anyone with some encouragement. I could do with some help on keeping the motivation going.

I'm starting to really get some shape back and the confidence is coming as well. All good so far and I hope to improve some more. Will keep you posted.

Once a upon a time - weight loss- Dance the kgs away

What a workout. 15 minutes of dancing and you work up quite a sweat. I was doing some dancing to 80s music. Always easy to do. Nothing fancy, no twirls or leaps just dancing and moving my arms, hands and feet.

Will see how the back holds up tomorrow, as this is always a concern for me. But I enjoyed the fun in comfortable shoes at home. So, no eyes, passing judgement on my moves or should we say lack of. I could be as silly as I wanted to be.

So I'll see how I pull up tomorrow and probably sick to one session of the dancing every couple of days.

My goal now is 67 kgs and I think I can get there now. Will keep you posted.

Floral arrangement for my thank you note on etsy.

I think a personal touch goes a long way. So my wonderful husband bought in some cut roses from our garden. So I decided this would be my floral arrangement on my thank you note sent with every purchase from my etsy site.

I love personal service for my self and hope to bring that to my customers. I hope you too will enjoy this picture and the love it represents in a relationship.

Once a upon a time - weight loss - The state of play

Ok, this is where it is at. I have been good all week but I can honestly say it's been hard today. And again, I'll be honest I not going to eat that well tonight. But I think I have to have a set back every now and then otherwise I wouldn't be normal.

So I'll deal this set back tomorrow and go back to my crusade hopefully with a new plan. The plans are working and the goals are getting achieved. My new plan is to get to 67 kgs but how and when. Hopefully soon.

Once a upon a time - weight loss -I have reached 68.8kgs.

Well, I have reached 68.8 kgs and I'm now determined to get to 62 kgs. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I had the personnel trainer give me one healthy food choice this week and I have stuck to that. One thing was easy to do and remember.

The thing is that as I knew I could only have one treat I would often not even bother and just wait and eat at dinner. I also have been very good with lunch and have been enjoying our organic tomatoes which we have being growing. So rather then putting butter or mayo, I have been filling the sandwich with vegetables. Cucumber, tomatoes and cheese has been my favourite.

The training has been going well and slowly, very slowly I have been able to increase speed and weights on the equipment. The body is changing and I see a new me, or should I say the old me coming back to life, and by the way, enjoying it. Will keep you posted.
